Our Why
BowTie Kids was inspired and founded from the heart and passion of Karen Prescod. In the midst of her own struggles and challenges, with chronic pain she had the vision to create a non-profit to support children who suffer, along with their families. We exist to support, nurture, and empower families with children who suffer from chronic pain, so that they may secure a better quality of life.
Our What
BowTie Kids is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing programs and services to children who suffer from chronic pain. Treating the children, is only the first step in the process. Simultaneously we support and engage the families to create points of connection and understanding, which are essential to foster the total well-being of the child affected. We know that children are a part of a whole unit, and that the impact of their challenges affects the entire family. By educating the parents and caregivers along with the siblings we are able to support and blend the family together as one.
Our How
We provide a fun, safe, supportive and uplifting environment that engages not just the children, but the entire family to create healing for the mind, body and spirit. We strive for our efforts to leave an everlasting impression that will be felt by the children and families, as they grow to together as one.
